01The film · forty seconds
It opens inside a painted world, pushes through the glass into the desert night where the title was written in light, and then holds up the record itself — the sleeve, the seal pressed into the card, photographs from the booklet, a page of the song’s own lyrics, and the disc.
02The record
Beautiful Pain came out in 2013 on Best Revenge Records — a real record with a real package: a printed booklet, a seal on the card, and a disc in a tray. It has been restored from the original masters, and on October 2 it goes up on every platform.
03The package
Every image here comes off the 2013 package itself, scanned at six hundred dots per inch — the sleeve, the tray, the booklet and the seal.
